Nola Freestone, custom wood burning artist, has been practicing this art for over forty years. Her career has its beginnings at the Wooden Shoe Factory in Holland, Michigan where she decorated wood shoes with a naptha powered burning point and finished them off with paint and varnish. Today her work on wooden bowls, cutting boards and signs has taken on an earthy, natural look and is finished with a food safe beeswax and mineral oil combination.
