Chris Taleff was born in Great Falls, Montana. He attended Willamette University in Salem, Oregon and Studio Art Centers International in Florence, Italy. In the summer of 2003 after graduation from Willamette, Chris moved to Ireland where he taught Black and White Photography at the National University of Ireland, Galway. In 2004 Chris moved to Italy to study the Italian Language and work in Bologna and Florence. Moving back to the United States, he spent a year in Portland, Maine and New York City before coming to Helena in the fall of 2006.
This show is called Rus in Urbe. Rus in Urbe is a Latin phrase that translates to "a countryside in the city". This series of photographs highlights small pieces within large pictures. It is a series plucked from my travels and inspired by form, color, and texture.
