  Artist:
Michael H. Lee

Michael H. Lee will feature his Montana Landscapes: A New Scale. Lee is self taught and began in the early 1970s studying the Leica manual and Ansel Adam's technical books on photography. His latest photographic work is of the Montana landscapes and abstracts that are included in this exhibit. This exhibit juxtaposes traditional landscapes with more abstract images. These photographs were taken in Unionville and along the Little Blackfoot River. Unlike his documentary work in Liberia, these landscapes and abstracts were studies. Lee had the luxury of time and spent a year looking for the subject material to obtain the best natural lighting. As for other projects, Less is engaged in a long-term effort to photographically document the murals painted by the Russian artist Victor Arnautoff.
