RESOURCES

Welcome to Downtown Helena's resource hub! The Helena Business Improvement District (BID) is dedicated to keeping Downtown Helena a lively place to work, shop, and explore. Through our programs and services, we support businesses and property owners with facade grants, beautification initiatives, banner programs, shop local campaigns and so much more. Whether you're a business owner looking for support or a resident who wants to get involved  — you're in the right place.

Whether you're looking for a seasonal gig or a full time job, Downtown Helena is a wonderful place to work!

The purpose of the BID is to promote the health, safety, prosperity, security, and general welfare of the inhabitants of the City of Helena and the proposed district, and appears to be of special benefit to the property within the boundaries of the proposed district.

Programs

Banner Program

The BID is in charge of all banners hung downtown. Through this program, organizations can purchase their own banners and pay the BID to hang and fly them. These banners replace the standard banners in a specified area and time to promote cultural, entertainment, artistic, and community events.

Flower Program

The BID purchases a set amount of flowers for Downtown, but any donation or sponsorship helps fund MORE flowers for Downtown Helena. Whether you’re a local business or a community member who loves the vibrant blooms, consider this meaningful way to contribute.

Farmer's Market

Every year, the Business Improvement District (BID) hosts a booth at Helena's Farmer's Market. The BID extends an open invitation to small businesses, artists, and entrepreneurs who are interested in experiencing the Farmer's Market for themselves.

Who Does what downtown?

Explore this quick-reference guide that helps property owners, business owners, and community members identify who is responsible for common maintenance and service issues across Downtown Helena. From snow removal and graffiti to street light outages and overflowing trash cans, the guide breaks down responsibility by location and provides contact information for each party.

Trashes

The BID manages all silver trash cans downtown. These trashes can be easily identified because of the artwork on the top.

The Holter After School Teen Program (ATAC) designed options for the cover and two were selected.

The trashes include a QR code. If the trash can is full, you can scan to notify us, so we can promptly empty it.
